Every Black child in this country should be born at a healthy weight, attend a school that affirms and expands them, enjoy meals with vegetables, hang out on a safe and appropriate internet, see themselves reflected in their books and toys, breathe clean air and drink clean water, be seen as a child and live in an uplifting community where they can play, explore and thrive. We can be outraged and disgusted, we also have to prepare and stay ready. Particularly for the generation of teachers and educational leaders who will have HUGE gaps and misunderstandings about American History and most disciplines. How will we prepare them for our future students?
