How To Make The Best Vegetable Charcuterie Board

Then, let them soak in a bowl of filtered water with ice until you are ready to assemble the board so they stay crisp. Also, make the dips and let them chill in the refrigerator until you are ready to assemble the board.

Step 2: Pick the board you will be using. Make sure it is large enough to fit all vegetables. However, you don’t want the board to be too big. Use a medium-sized marble or wood board. After you pick the board, add separate bowls for each dip. Place the bowls throughout the board, not all in one area, you want them spread out.

Step 3: Add some vegetables to different areas of the board. Place the larger vegetables first since they take up more space. We placed the celery and carrots in their own sections.

Step 4: Finish filling in the board with the rest of the vegetables. At this point, we filled in the remaining sections of the board with cucumber, bell peppers, jicama, and tomatoes.

Step 5: Transfer the chilled dips to the bowls on the board. Also, garnish the top of the dips to elevate their visual appeal. For example, add more blue cheese crumbles to the blue cheese dip, toasted sesame seeds to the hummus, and chopped basil to the cottage cheese dip. Next, garnish the board with fresh herbs such as thyme or rosemary for presentation purposes. Once assembled, serve and enjoy.

Expert Tips

  • Soak The Vegetables In Ice Water: To keep the vegetables fresh and crispy before you assemble the board, let them soak in a bowl of filtered water with ice.
  • Bite-Sized Pieces: Chop larger vegetables into the ideal bite-sized pieces so you can easily enjoy this charcuterie board. Also, cut the vegetables evenly for uniformity.
  • Use A Variety Of Vegetables: For the best vegetable charcuterie board, it is important to use a variety of different vegetables and colors, not just one or two different vegetables. A variety of vegetables makes for a better presentation and a variety of flavors.
  • Use Fresh Vegetables: Make this vegetable charcuterie board with fresh vegetables that are in season at the time. You don’t want to use frozen vegetables.
  • Enjoy This Board Fresh: This vegetable charcuterie board is best enjoyed after making it while the vegetables are crisp and fresh. After about 1-2 hours, the vegetables become much less fresh and the dips get warm. If you do not finish the entire vegetable board, store any leftovers in the refrigerator before they sit out too long.
  • Place Dips Throughout The Board: Make sure to place the dips in different sections of the board, not all in one area.

How To Store Leftover Ingredients

If you have any leftover vegetables that did not fit on the board or that you didn’t end up eating, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Also, add filtered water to the container to keep them fresh and crispy longer. Just make sure to replace the water in the container each day. Additionally, store any leftover dips in airtight containers in the refrigerator. It makes it easy to assemble a vegetable charcuterie board again or to enjoy the vegetables for easy snacking. Make sure to use the leftover vegetables and dips within a few days.
